The week is halfway done

So I was out last night..or rather early evening.....at one of our local eating establishments which don't allow minors
Sitting quietly having a bite to eat and a drink or two when I noticed a party of ladies at another table...
Nothing unusual about that....there are many women who go out for a drink or a bite of an evening, right?
Well what caught my attention was that they were having a lot of fun
Not loud, obnoxious, drunken fun...just regular fun
These ladies were, to put it politely, "of a certain age"
The youngest would have been late 40s maybe, the oldest possibly 60ish....and all pretty well turned out if you know what I mean (nudge,nudge, wink, wink, say no more )
Or, to be blunt and crude, I'd do 'em lmao

Queen+Adam Lambert - Double wow!
Ok, so lets set the scene...
I have been a huge Queen fan since I was about 9 or 10 years old... and I mean HUGE fan
And I was very very impressed with Adam Lambert since his American Idol stint...
In fact...I said back then that if Queen ever did look for a singer, he would be the guy
Sorry folks...Paul Rodgers just didn't click for me at all....
As great as Paul Rodgers is, together with Queen just really wasn't a good fit for his style....
Such a shame really, because P.R. is a bona fide rock god vocalist... it just didn't work with Queen, for me at least
But Adam Lambert - well that's a different story altogether...
He has the range and power necessary to pull it off with ease
Nevertheless, I was prepared to be disappointed - after all, how could anyone fill THOSE shoes?
Well let me tell you ladies and gentlemen....
Adam Lambert pretty much did!
At certain points you could have closed your eyes and it was almost like listening to Freddie....not that they sound similar or that Adam Lambert was trying to mimic him...it just sounded soooooo good
From the opening blast of Now I'm Here to the closing We Are The Champions he nailed it!
Big time!
My only complaint, if you could call it that, was that maybe he's not quite used to handling a full arena audience just yet....or maybe he's still a little bit over awed at sharing the stage with two LEGENDS in Brian May and Roger Taylor, and didn't want to hog the limelight.....
There were flashes of the showmanship he has - witness the large chaises longue carted out for Killer Queen (of course! )...give him another dozen shows under his belt and I have a feeling he'll almost take over the show
And deservedly so.....he's that good (even on his own)
And Brian and Roger ought to be used to that
And yes...Freddie showed up once or twice on the big screen
Love of My Life, played and sung mostly by Brian with just his acoustic, was one instance...
Brian May is a good singer in his own right, but that song is a BITCH to sing...trust me on this
Beautiful song...but an absolute bitch
I have to say, this was probably the best concert I've seen - I was choked up through most of it, I must admit....
I never ever thought I'd get to see Brian May and Roger Taylor perform live....not in a million years......
So yes, I'm a happy camper
One thing I do have to note....I have never seen so many gay guys in one place in my life lol
It was incredible.... I don't know if it was the Adam Lambert factor, or the Queen factor or what
It was just that noticeable that I have to pass comment
The crowd was wildly varied though...even more than usual...
Lots of teeny boppers presumably there for the Adam Lambert experience plus lots of much older people for the Queen experience....
I'm sure not one single person went out of that arena disappointed....it was that good
So all you folks who live outside of Manitoba...if you get a chance to see this show...jump at it!
You will not be disappointed!!
