I knew obama would be bad for the country but I really expected it to take him at least a year to crash everything.
I'm aware that the problem seemed to start during the Bush administration but the market looks forward and started to see that Obama would win the election. Investors started taking money out of the market.
The market still looks forward and investors don't like what they see.
Those people that sent me emails entitled "yes we can".... all I can say is "Yes you did"

The last year has seen many changes for my professional life. A little more than a year ago, I was laid off but I donated my time to so that the company would survive.
I have been rewarded for that sacrifice and dedication with a promotion. I'm now the floor supervisor. I control the work flow of all the projects from the time engineering starts asking things be built until the product is installed. I am supervising 9. We are in negotiations to add a manufacturing plant with 30 employees in the next couple of months.
Our product will benefit from both rising energy costs (particularly fossil fuels) and the push from the political left for "Green" products.
On the social side, I have met a new friend from this site and we have spent some time getting to know each other. This time hasn't included sexual activity but it is starting to seem that will be likely soon. So far we have just chatted, dined, attended a movie, and walked through a peaceful park.
my youngest has completed one year as a Marine. He expects to be deployed to Iraq soon.
Politically, I'm disappointed with the outcome of the elections. It seems a shift in demographics and philosophy has now been completed and those that think the role of Government is to provide for them have now learned they can elect people who will use the power of government to "redistribute" wealth.
I had no good choice in this election because both of the major candidates are liberal. They will both allow the illegal invasion to continue. and they will both sign stupid environmental treaties.
I preferred McCain because he would have been more likely to veto some spending if his base leaned on him. Obama is going to get a lot of pressure from the far left to change the social culture and spend money on everything imaginable.
I also preferred McCain as the father of a US Marine. I believe that the terrorists will see Obama as a symbol that America has lost it's will to stand in their way to establishing islamic rule of the whole world. I believe that attacks on american interests will escalate. Not necessarily in america but around the world. They will gain strength again and we will eventually have to send troops to protect us from them or simply surrender our freedoms and submit to Sharia Law. The Infidels are viewed as second class citizens and are supressed and discriminated against legally.
My opinion is that the United States will change drastically over the next decade. The country I grew up in will hardly be recognizable to me and certainly not the country that I hoped my and great grandchildren would live in.
While I'm not optomistic about the countries direction, I am not despairing either. As a christian, I understand that this is only a temporary place and that my destination is in a new heaven and new earth that Christ has prepared and promised. I'm only here for a time to serve my neighbor and experience joy and sorrow.

I've been a member of AdultFriendFinder a long time. I haven't met but one other person from the site and that was years ago. I think I understand the reasons for such little response from my profile. But should I take the time to redo the profile, what should I include that isn't there now?

Just as things have really begun to improve in my professional life with a promotion, a raise, and stock options. I have managed to strain my back to the extent that I can hardly sit in a chair. I can stand and walk but I can't bend and lift or sit without a lot of pain. I should have gone to the doctor yesterday morning but of course I was hoping it would improve on it's own. Sometime this week I will get it looked at.

It has been almost 4 years since the husband of the woman who babysat our volunteered to work on my motorcycle. It was a generous gesture on his part and I expected and planned to pay him a reasonable fee for his service. He works as a mechanic in town and has worked on many motorcycles although mostly Harleys. Unfortunately, mine is a Honda CB650. I bought it in '79 after a breakup with a long time girlfriend. I rode it a lot the first couple of years and really loved the bike. After I graduated from college I moved to Wyoming from Iowa taking only what I could pack on the bike. That was the start of a great time of my life.
Unfortunately, along the way I got busy driving trucks and then got married and the bike was put into storage and time past. The bike moved with me when I did, always with the intent to get it going and start riding again. I started a family and things got even busier. Now it has been since 1984 since the bike was last licensed. I always yearn in the spring to go for a cruise, maybe even go for a long trip retracing the past a little.
My mechanic admits he worked on the bike for a while but something about the 4 carburaters frustrated him so he gave up and it is now buried deep in his garage. Last time I talked to him he was thinking he knew someone that could get it done for me. He was going to talk to the guy and then let me know. That was 4 months ago. It's about time to go down to the bar and find him and then make arraingements to pick the bike up and get it to a serious mechanic.

I'm lonely.
We are very busy at work. Not because we are selling a lot of machines but because we are doing more special builds. The special builds require a complete engineering,, then there is the fabrication, and then finally installation. The whole process for a job can be 8 weeks, with other jobs starting before the previous one is finished.
I still regularly sit and watch the upper midwest chatroom. There are familiar names in there but I haven't met anyone in several years now. There just aren't many women that fit the profile I'm looking for in my area. They all seem to be at least 60 miles away. With my irregular schedule and my other commitments 60 miles is just too far.
