If Wishes Were Horses A Poem

If Wishes Were Horses Written in 2015

If wishes were horses,
I'd have a full stable.
I would have some that do all sorts of things
Some for leisurely jaunts
And others for races.
And how about those that act
With equestrians and their varied paces.
As well as some horses reserved for therapy,
For adults and in need of encouragement
Whose spirits need cheering up or bolstering.

Horses and wishes,
Is there anything more glorious?
Than a wild running
The beauty, the elegance!
Wild horses running in a pack
Upon a beach
Or out in the wilderness?

And wishes,
How they would like the same freedom
To run and be all they can be,
To get the most out of a life.
To be the ultimate life worth living
When wishes become reality.

 If wishes were horses
there would be great race courses
where we could compare
the wishes if we dare
to bring world peace
or domestic fighting to cease
to have the lover of dreams
or afternoon tea with sweet creams
the contest might not be won
by fastest wish when it were done
perhaps the wish we'd all want to win
is a good night's sleep away from world's din.
