[[[B]**[U]UPDATE[/U]**[/B] [I]Have found a very special lady interest and am pursuing options in that direction. I'm a one-woman-at-a-time kind of guy, so am not looking for anything else. You can find me in the KY/TN chat room if you wanna chat or cut up a bit.[/I]]] I'm at a point where I can do all those things which have been on the back-burner in my life 'til now. It's time to live for me now and not the fulfillment of someone else's dreams. A close and special companion would only make it that much sweeter in realization. I have a curious mind and am always studying and learning new things. It is the secret to youth. When you stop learning, you stop living. Some may call me a bit eccentric, but I think they're crazy not to try it. I have been this way all my life and it hasn't killed me yet! I have been a soldier, teacher, carpenter, business owner, cabinet maker, firefighter and numerous other things in my journey here. All those roads have led me to where I am today, however. It is what I have always wanted to do. I'm a writer. I pay the bills with copywriting, press releases, articles and helping online businesses prosper as a marketing consultant. But my real love is in the stories and poetry I write. I am working on a novel between bouts of making sure I stay fed and warm by writing for s. I live a quiet, peaceful life, on a small farm in the country. I like it here. It is a simple existence in a simple setting but it meets my needs and perality. I don't have much use for treasures, trinkets and physical trappings that have no functional purpose. Although my lifestyle is not what you would call Spartan; it is modest, yet comfortable. I guess saying I am practical would be a fair description. I don't have much use for crowds, commotion or a lot of racket. I bother no one and won't be bothered. I don't get sucked into the drama of others; it is none of my business and needs to be tended somewhere other than around me. Although not an introvert, I am a very private per with a quiet disposition for the most part. I have learned you learn more from listening than talking and weigh what I say before I speak. Words are like bullets: once they leave the muzzle of the gun, they are fired forever. I find that I like all manner of things but share equal lists of dislikes, too. I like women but have no use for the fellas other than their strong backs and generally weak minds. Where one woman is delightful, why, two is even better and three better yet! But, alas, I am getting up there and must remember my limitations. One woman is more than enough to keep me in line, I suppose. I'm not necessarily looking for a 24/7 relationship, but am not opposed to that idea either if things click. I only see one woman at a time. I think it's only fair to give a woman all of my attention, not just part of it, if there is an attraction there. Anything less than that would be cheating us both. I am, though, looking for one woman who would like a close relationship with a man while also retaining her autonomy as well. One close female companion is more than enough for any man to keep up with. And not just in sexual ways, mind you. I am looking for a woman who enjoys my company for social things: dinners, movies, short trips about locally or just getting together for company now and then. Sex is great, but it is not THE most important thing in a relationship, it is just A thing in it. All that being said, it is not my intention to initiate/pursue relationships on this site in an active, aggressive way. I'm here mainly out of curiosity and to hopefully meet someone that enjoys spending time together. But one never knows where things might lead...

Intelligence is key, as is a sense of humor. I believe a level of self-confidence is excellent in a woman as long as it is tempered with a bit of humility; the same traits I admire in men.

Speak your mind, ladies, but know I will speak mine!

I don't tolerate liars, thieves or smartasses. Now, that does not preclude a bit of snarkiness in sense of humor, as I have that as well. But to boldly be rude to others will be a parting of the ways with me. I demand the same respect for me that others expect for themselves and I will have it.
