I just arrived in Beijing at the end of a three year ‘round-the-world adventure. I left San Francisco almost three years ago and and China is my 35th country (and 5th continent) in an amazing life changing journey. I will stay in Beijing, if all goes according to plan, until the 2008 Olympics. I have calm contemplative attitude mixed with a wry sense of humor. I’m kind hearted, thoughtful and always honest; old fashioned qualities which I’m proud of and will never change, but I sometimes wonder if they matter any more to some people. I have progressive politics and working to do my share to make the world a better place is part of what drives me. I spent part of my trip doing volunteer work in Pakistan. I like thinking about the world and how our individual actions--and American actions--impact the world. While volunteering in India I even wrote a book about my journey. Fun things I like to do include: scuba diving, white water rafting, tennis, reading, board games, and acting in community theatre. In fact, when I was in Australia, I even performed in a show. (I played a drunk Irish priest and had a blast.)

My Ideal Person I am attracted to intelligence and confidence. I’d ultimately like to find my soul mate--my confidant to share life’s joys and sorrows with. Someone to laugh with and who will help inspire to me to achieve ambitious goals. Someone who makes me smile when we’re together, challenges my thinking and makes my mind race when we talk, warms my heart when we make love.
