Update 9/4/22- we do prefer to meet on the beach, we live a ways out so no one comes out here (understandable) as well as no one will open there doors to strangers (also understandable) we dont really do the bar scene and restaurants around here are always so packed and he has no desire to wait hours to sit, so thats why we meet on the beach.
